Population by region

What is the purpose of this graph? Or more importantly, what would be the purpose of showing population information this way instead of the many other graphs you have already seen? (the graph can be see in the Age structure diagram assignment)

Well, for the China graph you can tell that there are more men in the whole country, and a lot of the population are in the age group of 30-35. It seems like in China's law on children, they mostly have boys rather than girls even though there are laws against
sex-selective abortions and neglecting girl children.

The purpose of this graph is to help predict the future population of this country by finding patterns in it. It also tells us about the quality of life the country's people live, by things like life expectancy. Putting it in this format makes it easier to compare one year to another and determine what caused the changes. The graph helps explain their view on family as well, depending on whether there are more males or females.

The purpose of this graph is to view it and determine what the populations are being affected by. The reasons could be quality of life, previous disturbances (such as wars), and industry. This can be shown on the graph by the different bulges and dips of the lines.

The purpose of this graph is to see the population changes over the years. Also, being able to research the drastic changes in population. This graph helps you to make predictions on upcoming years.

The purpose of the age structure diagrams is to predict changes in future population and allow demographers to see drastic changes in populations. This allows them to figure out what caused the changes and what to do about the changes. A age structure diagram is the easiest way to show and read the information.

The purpose of the graph is to help us predict future populations in a given country. It also tells us where more people are located in a specific age group and how long people in the given country are living.

Putting the population by region is very helpful. This way you can tell the population by the regions of a country, or even of the world, instead of the entire population as a whole.
The purpose of showing population this way would be instead of just looking at the years and genders of the entire world or the whole country, you can take it one step further and look at specific regions or areas. This helps to show how the population in more specific areas and those areas' density compared to the population and density of other areas. This sort of graph will tell you which areas are more or less populated, then you can do specific studies on these areas to figure out why or why not they are greatly populated. cool

These graphs help us predict the future populations of a given country. They also tell us when a majority of the people in the country are located in a certain age group and how long most people are living.

These kinds of graphs are made to help predict future populations of countries or regions. I felt that this graph was easy to read and understand because you can see both male and females and you can see the ages. These are easy to compare to others too.

The purpose of the graph is to show us the majority of people in an age group in the country are. It lets us predict future populations of that area. Showing the information this way because it is easier to read, understand and comprehend.

The purpose is to help predict populations per country. It also tells the percentage of the people who are living in that country.

The purpose of this graph is to show the populations and how they changed in the given time frame. This graph allows us to compare different populations in the world based on number, unlike an age structure diagram that just shows age. This graph makes it easier to see how the numbers are affected differently in different parts of the world.

The graph shows the amount of people of each gender of various age groups. This graph lets you predict future populations as well. For instance, Nigeria has a very large amount of children at ages 15 and under while there are fewer adults, so the total population should go up when the children grow up and reproduce.

The purpose of this graph shows how long people in a specific country or region are going to live. It also shows where more people are located in an age group. It helps predict future populations in a certain areas or region.

The purpose of this graph is to show the specific population in different age groups in a country and determine what affects this country's population. What separates this graph from other population graphs, is that by looking at the age structure diagram you can tell whether a country is developing or developed. You can also specify the population in each age group therefore you can determine why the numbers in this population are the way they are.

The purpose of the population by region graph is to show population numbers and percentages in each region of the world. This graph is easier to read and understand than the other graphs because it shows numbers and percentages in a step-by-step manner. This graph shows the total number of people in each region unlike the age structure diagram, which shows the population in a specific year at specific ages.

The purpose of the Age-Structure diagram is to show the ages of a population in a given area. It is quite clever actually, you see it is possible to tell the birth and death rate of a population by studying the graph. For example if 1/3 of the population is 0-10 year olds and 1/15 of the population is people over 90; you have a underdeveloped country, with a high death rate and a high birth rate, meaning children are born at a great rate, but due to the rifts of the region the children die young by disease, war, or starvation.

This graph is used to show the specific percent of people in each gender of a country. It is shown this way so that you can predict the percent of people in each age category in any year. big grin

Do you think the distribution of people in the world was always the way it is depicted in the table? Why would there be a change to the way it is now and what predictions can you make if we were to visualize a chart like this 50 years into the future. Be sure to look back at the chart and make any comment.

these graphs help us predict what the population will be in a few more years and what it is now.
it helps us compare populations from years past to present years and years coming.

I think the purpose of these types of graphs is to most importantly show future population growth between males and females and children and adults. It also shows life quality such as life expectancy.I also think they are useful in determining some of the limiting factors that cause more deaths in younger children; by finding patterns in the graph this can help determine this. Another important reason we use these graphs instead of others is because they put most of the important population information collected from a bunch of different graphs all into one. They show year-to-year changes helping make better predictions.

The purpose of this graph is to determine what the future population will be based on how many people are living in an area at the current time, and what ages they are. It also shows the country's beliefs, depending on how much of the population is made up of males or females. This graph can be observed and analyzed to see what effects the population as well.

Being able to see how the population differs in separate regions allows us to look at those specific regions and try and understand why those populations compare the way they do with other region's populations. These graphs give us much more insight into 'why' a population is the way it is rather than simply knowing 'what' the number is.

To continue off of the re-post of Mrs. Maine, I have a few things to add. The population by region hasn't always been the same. It differs from different times because of the different people immigrating to and emigrating from a certain region. These graphs can show you to which areas more people move to or from by comparing charts of the past with those of the present. Chances are in 50 years the charts won't be the same. The populations by region will be different not only because of births and deaths, but also because of the amount of peoples moving into and out of the area.

The purpose of this graph is to show the population in each country in how many people live in each age group of that particular country. The purpose of showing the information in this form is that it allows you to visually see the differences in each age group male and female and it allows you to see the difference in the population of male and females. Which could be caused by religious or cultural beliefs and also by the laws that a country has made.

The purpose of this graph is to show where most of the people in that certain are in their age group

The purpose of the graph is to show how the male and female populations have changed over a given amount of time. It can also be used to predict how the population will change.

The purpose of this graph is to show an estimate to how long a group of people, based on age, will live. It is different for every country or even town/city if it would be broken down that far.
