H2O...A Valuable Resource

When you ask many people what they believe is a current problem in the world, a common answer would be 'Global Warming' or 'War'. Yes, these are critical problems that we face at the moment. However, I believe that before we try to save the earth, we should help the people of the world.
We have sinks and showers in our house, so that whenever we need some fresh, clean water to drink, wash clothes, bathe, etc. in, we can. However, there are many people in poverty that can't do the simple actions that we have the liberty of doing. I think that people in America lots of times don't realize how lucky they actually are.
Many people die every year because they can't find water that is not dirty or germ-infested. When we talked about population growth, we learned that many people have a large amount of kids because they want at least one to survive. Well, this is one reason that they feel the need to do so. You can't expect to drink brown water and not get sick from something in it.
There are many ways to purify water, if only these people had the money to do so. I do feel strongly for the environment of the world, and I would really like to see it improve, but first, we should take care of the people. Then, if we could someday all get along and there wouldn't be as many problems, we could focus on the environment. It's probably best to tackle one problem at a time.

H2O is so vital to life, it's so sad that so many people can't get it. You are completely right about every topic you brought up. America needs to think of other's before themselves so much more.

I agree with the H2O idea that you mentioned, but I liked your idea on changing the people first even more. I also think that if we change the health of the people, then we can focus on other problems. I realize that environmental problems cannot be ignored, but the people also can't be ignored. If the people are healthy, then they will want to improve the environment also.

Milea has made a strong point. To do this I believe that we first need to get this information out more often. You sometimes see some commercials on TV about poverty in other countries, but we need to make this information stick in people's heads. The people who are currently in poverty can't really help this as much as the people who have the clean water.

Thanks, guys.
You're right Mason, it would help a lot to get the idea out more. It would all just depend on whether people were willing to think about someone else before themselves, and that's an issue that I'm not sure we can overcome. We're all guilty in some point of our lives of selfishness, and I think that lots of people in this world need to open their eyes and realize that they're not the only person here.

I agree. Everybody does need water and so do we. Some people like the ones in the South from the current drought need the water the most.

I agree with you H2O is very important for living. We do need to start helping the earth by first helping its people. Alot of dry and poor countries cannot get the proper healthy water that we have. How do we fix the problem though?

I like where you're going with doing one thing at a time instread of everything at once. Helping with water problems will effect more than people though, it will also help the environment and organisms living in it.

It makes me sick how good of a writer you are...I think that water purity is a problem, but while we have water purifiers and such it can be delayed from really posing a threat. I might be quite wrong, but that is just my view on the situation.

I wrote about the same topic and I really enjoyed how you wrote it. To see things clearly and logically is a skill that I believe we are lacking in as a whole. Thanks for your comment.
